A Nashville man has been accused of purposely burning a child's hands with scalding hot water.
Antonio Terrell Pewitte, 37, was arrested Saturday for the incident that happened last month.
According to an affidavit obtained by Nashville's News 2, Pewitte told police that on December 1 he pushed the lever on the bathroom faucet to hot, grabbed the victim's forearms and held her hands under the water.
The six-year-old girl was found with severe blisters on her hands the next day, after police were called to the residence.
She was treated for several days at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for second degree burns.
Pewitte was charged with child abuse.
Last month, Pewitte was also arrested for another violent crime.
He was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly strangling an ex-girlfriend during an argument about a child on November 8.
Court records show he was not arrested until December 27.
It is unclear if the November dispute involved the same child he was accused of burning.
Pewitte is being held on a $120,000 bond for both charges.
