Rod Odom's career high 21 points led Vanderbilt to a 79-49 blowout over Northeastern Saturday. With the win, the Commodores improve to 8-4 as they prepare to open conference play next week.
Vanderbilt jumped out to an early firs half lead and never let up. The Commodores shot 76.0 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from beyond the arc resulting in a 46-18 lead at intermission.
The first half saw an 8 1/2 minute stretch without a Vanderbilt miss. That comes one game after the Commodores had their worst shooting performance in a loss to Saint Louis on Monday.
Damian Jones helped in the effort with 16 points on the night while Eric McClellan finished with 14.
The Commodores open up conference play on the road Tuesday at Alabama.
