Metro Police have made an arrest in a five year old attempted murder case.

Raul Rostro was arrested Saturday night for a shooting that occurred near the intersection of Wallace Road and Nolensville Road around 10:30 p.m. on the night of July 2, 2008.

Rostro is accused of shooting Shayne Howse in the parking lot of a nearby Mapco convenience store.

Howse was riding a bicycle while his cousin walked beside him.  As the pair arrived at the nearby Mapco gas station, police say they were approached by Rostro, who was driving a 1990 silver, four-door Cadillac with dark tinted windows.

Rostro reportedly rolled down his window, pulled a bandana over his mouth, and shouted, “This is brown pride, b*$@^!.”

He then fired one shot from a chrome or silver semi-automatic handgun and drove away.

The bullet struck Howse in the heel.  Howse's cousin identified Rostro in a photo lineup.

Rostro faces several charges, including attempted homicide.

He is currently being held on a $240,000 bond.
