A surprising offensive outburst pushed the Nashville Predators past the Detroit Red Wings 6-4 Monday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The Predators have been among the NHL's lowest scoring teams all season, but beat Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard with relative ease. It was Howard's first game since suffering a knee injury three weeks ago.
Colin Wilson had two goals and an assist for Nashville. Craig Smith continued his hot play with his 11th of the season. Nick Spaling, Mike Fisher and Roman Josi rounded out the scoring for Nashville which won its second in a row after dropping five straight.
The Predators hit the road Thursday to meet the Boston Bruins.
