Two former Smyrna High School football stars will meet up as opponents at the Armed Forces Bowl Game Monday.
Running back Jeremiah Bryson said he immediately thought of his old teammate, Parrish Gaines, when he learned the Middle Tennessee State University was set to play Navy in the upcoming bowl game.
“When I heard we were going to play Navy, the first thing that popped in my head was Parrish,” he told the Daily News Journal.
Gaines joined the Naval Academy following high school graduation in 2011.
“I will notice him out there, and I hope I get a play to his side so we can have an encounter. It won't be odd either. It will be fun. I am excited about it,” Bryson told the newspaper.
Kickoff for the much anticipated game is Monday at 10:45 a.m.
