MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Michael Lowry, the director of Monroe County Schools, has died.
Assistant Director of Schools Tim Blankenship posted a statement on the district's website saying Lowry passed away on Tuesday.
A cause of death was not disclosed.
WBIR-TV reports Lowry served as an educator in Monroe County for almost 40 years. Blankenship said Lowry was a family man and loved to farm.
The statement asked people to keep his family in their prayers “as they cope with the untimely loss of a husband and father.”
Blankenship said he will post information about funeral arrangements when they are completed.
