An Ashland City mother who sustained serious injuries after crashing her SUV late last week is continuing to recover after her release from the hospital at her home.

Just before Christina Reeves' Jeep plunged into a ravine Friday morning as she was returning home from finishing a job in Franklin, the young mother was on the phone with her husband Travis.

“I said I got some coffee with me and I said I love and that was the last thing he heard because I fell asleep,” Christina recalled.

Christina's SUV flipped on its side after leaving the roadway. She said she began screaming for help after she couldn't find her cell phone immediately following the crash.

“I just screamed, “Help! Please God, please help! Help! Help! Somebody help!'” she said.

She was rescued by a college student home on break and awoke at the hospital with her husband by her side.

“I got out of there alive and that's all I could ever be grateful for. My kids, my husband, they wouldn't know what to do without me and I wouldn't know what to do without them,” she said.

Christina has a long recovery ahead of her, including physical therapy, as heals from a broken leg, ribs, as well as serious neck and spine injuries.

Her husband is also unable to work after he recently broke his foot at work.

“We're scared we're not going to have a Christmas,” she said. “We're scared we will be homeless for Christmas.”

The couple has three children, including a nine-month-old baby.
