NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The owner of Pit and Barrel, Chris Ferrell, turned himself into police Friday for fatally shooting a country singer late last month.
Jerald “Wayne” Mills of the Wayne Mills Band was shot at the bar on Second Avenue South during the early morning hours of November 23.
He died later that day.
Ferrell is charged with second degree murder for the shooting.
He told police he shot Mills in self defense.
According to initial reports, Ferrell and Mills argued because Mills was smoking a cigarette in a non-smoking area.
Ferrell remains jailed on a $300,000 bond.
