The former sheriff of Robertson County, Gene Bollinger, passed away overnight Monday.
Bollinger spent over 50 years working in public safety.
His career included working with the Tennessee Highway Patrol as Chief Deputy ultimately becoming sheriff of Robertson County in 2001.
He retired in 2010.
“Sheriff Bollinger was a true Christian man who loved the Lord, his family, and his friends and neighbors,” said Captain Donald Bennett, a thirty-two year veteran of the sheriff's office, in a release.
Captain Bennett went on to say that Bollinger was a leader of many and an enemy to none.
He passed away at the age of 82.
