Some Nissan employees may soon be helping fight crime with the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.
According to a report by The Tennessean, information security employees could work as reserve deputies assisting investigators on forensics cases.
The deal was finalized earlier this month by county officials.
Nissan is offering to pay the costs of the program and allowing their forensic employees to work up to 20 hours a week.
Workers would collect electronic evidence from devices needed for investigations.
Williamson County gains a forensics investigation team without having to spend money.
The partnership is the first of it's kind between the automaker and deputies
