Memphis company has $17M contract at Fort Polk

FORT POLK, La. (AP) – The Pentagon says a Tennessee company has won a $17.2 million contract at Fort Polk.

A news release says Mahaffey Tent & Awning Co. Inc. of Memphis will supply tents, generators, light sets, shower trailers, hand-washing stations and other equipment to be used by units training at the Joint Readiness Training Center and at Fort Polk.

Mahaffy was among 10 companies bidding over the internet.

The contract is to be completed by December 14, 2014.
