An officer in Bell Meade narrowly avoided being hit by a car on Thursday while conducting a routine traffic stop.
Police arrested the man who crashed into a patrol car, and then almost ran an officer over with his vehicle in south Nashville.
It happened Thursday on Harding Road in Belle Meade.
According to the Tennessean, the officer had a car pulled over for speeding. As the officer was talking to that driver, the man slammed into the parked patrol car and kept driving. That's when the officer was able to jump out of the way before she got ran over.
Officers arrested the driver and charged him with driving under the influence.
No other information was immediately released.
