Several area malls opened their doors for 25 hours straight beginning Thanksgiving night for shoppers to take advantage of holiday sales.
Among those that opened at 8 p.m. Thursday through 9 p.m. on Black Friday included Opry Mills, RiverGate Mall, the Lebanon Premium Outlets and Cool Springs Galleria. Click here for a complete list of store and mall hours.
The National Retail Federation estimates that nationwide 33 million shoppers will shop Thursday, while 97 million will hit the stores Friday.
Retailers say the extra shopping hours will help them ring in the big bucks this holiday season because there are fewer shopping days between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Many retailers offer deep discounts on highly sought after items including TVs, computers and tablets, among other hot gadgets.
At Best Buy, customers took advantage of up to $200 off on select computers including some HP and Apple models, as well as discounted prices on TVs and other popular electronics.
At Walmart, lucky shoppers took home a 32″ television for just under $100 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Staples also offered iPads up to $150 off.
On Wednesday night, News 2 found two holiday shoppers camping out outside a Nashville Best Buy store. The pair said camping out at the store is the easiest way for them to afford the gifts they want to give.
