Jordan McRae scored a game high 25 points and Tennessee blasted Tennessee State 88-67 Friday night in Knoxville.
The Vols led by only eight points, 38-30 at the half, but took hot shooting and a dominant effort on the backboards to the easy victory. For the game Tennessee shot 55 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tigers 37-20.
Tennessee got a solid effort from freshman guard Darius Thompson. The Murfreesboro native had only five points, but he also had five steals and seven assists.
Patrick Miller led the Tigers with 20 points.
Tennessee moves to 3-1 with the win, while the Tigers fall to 0-6.
