Fifteen of 25 suspects in a long-term drug investigation were arrested Friday in Murfreesboro on charges of conspiracy to distribute more than 300 grams of cocaine and 70 pounds of marijuana.
The Murfreesboro Post reported the investigation began in July 2012 around the University Street area.
It began after the sheriff receive complaints from nearby citizens regarding drug trafficking and shootings.
The investigation, led by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, led to 25 people being indicted on a total of 27 charges.
Fifteen of those 25 people, the majority of which are repeat offenders, were arrested Friday.
Authorities recovered a total of $45,000 worth of illegal drugs and seized $160,000 in cash, 15 weapons, 27 vehicles, a boat, and electronic equipment.
Each suspect charged in connection with the drug bust is being held on a $100,00 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
They are due in court later this week.
The investigation remains ongoing and more indictments are expected.
Officials also reported the illegal sales of cocaine and marijuana were disrupted for a few days after the warrants were served.
