The Murfreesboro Post reported the investigation began in July 2012 around the University Street area.

It began after the sheriff receive complaints from nearby citizens regarding drug trafficking and shootings.

Fifteen of those 25 people, the majority of which are repeat offenders, were arrested Friday.

Authorities recovered a total of $45,000 worth of illegal drugs and seized $160,000 in cash, 15 weapons, 27 vehicles, a boat, and electronic equipment.

Each suspect charged in connection with the drug bust is being held on a $100,00 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

They are due in court later this week.
