A Brentwood woman who collects expensive designer handbags is out thousands of dollars after several rare purses were stolen from her Governors Club home.
Pat Turner has spent the past few decades collecting designer handbags from all over the world.
Turner told News 2 she first noticed approximately 20 of the purses, totaling more than $50,000, missing from her home in August.
Items stolen included handbags by Gucci, Chanel and Fendi, among others.
Turner believes someone doing work at the home may have taken the purses.
She later noticed several pairs of designer shoes and jewelry had also been taken.
The items altogether total more than $75,000, according to Turner.
“Yes, they are purses and shoes but nonetheless they are very priceless to me and very important objects to me.”
The Brentwood Police Department is investigating.
Many of the goods were traced to online retailers where they had been listed for sale.
“There are pieces of property sold online that are outside the state of Tennessee. We do have some items we expect we'll be able to recover, not all, but at least some,” said Assistant Chief of Police Tommy Walsh.
The case goes before the Williamson County grand jury next month.
