Walmart and Second Harvest Food Bank have joined forces to help fight hunger in Middle Tennessee.
On Friday morning Walmart employees helped sort, pack and distribute food at a Second Harvest Mobile Pantry event.
Families in need received enough food to last them about two weeks on Friday at the mobile pantry event.
The Walmart Foundation contributed $124,000 to help provide food assistance to more than 250 families and seniors.
Last year Second Harvest officials said the retail giant donated about seven million pounds of food.
