Vanderbilt holds off Lipscomb 80-69 in cross-town battle

The Vanderbilt Commodores took down Lipscomb Friday night 80-69 at Memorial Gym and head coach Kevin Stallings passed Roy Skinner for most wins in school history.

The victory moved the Dores to (2-0) and was the 279th of Stallings career.

Rod Odom led Vanderbilt with 20 points. Forward James Siakam was strong inside with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Commodores.

The Bisons gave the Commodores a game, it was tied at 49-49 with 10 minutes to play, but the Dores pulled away late scoring 20 of the games final 32 points.

Lipscombs' JC Hampton led all scorers with 21 points.
