Investigators are trying to determine what caused a vacant home to burn down in the Percy Priest Lake area Wednesday night.
Flames were visible when firefighters arrived to the home on Smith Springs Road near Ned Shelton Road just after 11 p.m.
Billows of smoke filled the air as the fire destroyed the 1,500 to 1,800 square foot house.
Officials stated although the home was vacant, power was still being supplied to the home. Nashville Electric service cut the power off to avoid safety concerns for the firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
The fire marshal surveyed the scene overnight. Further information was not immediately released.
