Middle Tennessee shut out FIU 48-0 Saturday to become bowl eligible for the fourth time in five years.

The Blue Raiders finished with 556 yards of total offense while the defense kept their opponent scoreless for the first time since 2006.

Quarterback Logan Kilgore completed 17-20 passes for 269 yards and a touchdown.

Kilgore also rushed for a touchdown in the second quarter and tied a school record with his 50 career touchdown pass- a seven-yard strike to Tavarres Jefferson- in the third.

Middle Tennessee jumped ahead early with the help of true freshman Shane Tucker.

Making his first collegiate start, Tucker scored a pair of touchdowns on the first two possessions of the game. He finished the contest with 95 yards rushing.

The Blue Raiders found the end zone once again just two snaps into the second half. Kevin Byard intercepted FIU quarterback E.J Hilliard's pass and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown.

A one-yard touchdown by Corey Carmichael capped a 68-yard drive to bring the score to the final 48-0.

Middle Tennessee has a bye next week before heading to Southern Miss for their final road game of the season on Nov. 23.
