With Justin Worley out indefinitely after thumb surgery, the Volunteers have turned to Josh Dobbs to run the offense at 10th ranked Missouri.
Dobbs is not your typical freshman. Instead of scaling back the playbook, head coach Butch Jones says they are expanding it.
Dobbs is an excellent student and reportedly knows the playbook inside-out and the Vols plan on increasing the number of run plays involving the quarterback because of his superior mobility.
Dobbs won the Watkins Award last year at Alpharetta High School in Georgia. That award is given by the National Alliance of African-American Athletes to a high school senior who combines academic and athletic excellence. He plans on majoring in aerospace engineering.
The 4-4 Vols have not beat ranked opponent on the road since 2006.
