Police continue to search for a person who allegedly stole a truck from a gas station with a 6-year-old inside on Wednesday.
In a report by the Herald Citizen, a man went inside the store at the Cookeville gas station with his truck running and his 6-year-old daughter remaining in the vehicle.
When the man came back outside his truck was missing.
The person who stole the truck reportedly let the young girl out of the vehicle unharmed on North Dixie Avenue. A resident noticed the 6-year-old and returned her safely to the store.
The young girl was able to give a description of the suspect and police are also reviewing video footage from the gas station.
Police added they have found a cell phone that was inside the truck on Highway 111, but have not identified a suspect or found the vehicle.
