Backup goaltender Carter Hutton made 38 saves for Nashville Sunday night in a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

It was just his second career start and first NHL win.

After a scoreless first period, Nashville broke the game open with three goals in the second.  Eric Nystrom scored Nashville's first short-handed goal of the season 20 seconds into the period.

Patric Hornqvist followed with his team-leading third goal of the season to pad the lead for Nashville.

Matt Cullen scored the third goal of the period to give the Predators the 3-0 lead.

Hutton allowed the lone Winnipeg goal of the game in the third period from Evander Kane.

The win extended Nashville's point streak to five games.  They finish a three game road trip in Minnesota Tuesday night .
