After being drafted in the forth round this year by the Titans and sitting on the bench for the first six weeks, rookie Brian Schwenke is finally getting the chance to start this Sunday against San Francisco.
At 320 pounds, the Titans are hoping Schwenke can play better than veteran Rob Turner who just was not getting the job done.
Head coach Mike Munchak said they drafted Schwenke for a reason and that he thinks the rookie will play well.
“We feel good about some of the push, some of the things he's able to do that we haven't been able to do the past few weeks,” he said.
The Titans couldn't ask for a better time to mix things up.
Running back Chris Johnson is averaging only 3.1 yards per carry and the team is trying to avoid a three game losing streak.
The Titans take on the 49ers Sunday afternoon at LP Field.
