A Clarksville mother was arrested Thursday following the August death of her eight-month-old daughter.
Nicole Pamblanco, 23, is charged with reckless homicide and child abuse.
Her daughter, Abigail, died August 28 at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital as a result of injuries sustained at the family's home on Northwood Terrace six days earlier.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined Pamblanco was directly responsible for Abigail's injuries and ultimately her death.
“I'm especially sorry for that baby. She hadn't even begun life,” nearby resident Victoria Lape said.
Neighbors said Pamblanco moved to their neighborhood earlier this year.
“She doesn't strike you as a creepy person. She looks like a normal mom in the neighborhood,” Lape said.
News 2 made several attempts to speak to family members at Pamblanco's home, but no one answered the door.
Pamblanco was indicted by a grand jury this month.
