A driver was issued a misdemeanor citation following an intense case of road rage Monday night in Williamson County.
Clint Baker, 23, was pulled over shortly after 10 p.m. on Murfreesboro Road near Interstate 65 just east of Franklin after an officer observed him weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.
There was also a report from another motorist that the driver had a weapon.
Baker, his brother, a passenger in the car, and their vehicle were searched but no weapon was found.
Baker was cited for misdemeanor reckless driving. According to the citation, he was traveling 80 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Baker told police his actions were the result of “road rage.” Both he and his brother reportedly expressed remorse and admitted their actions were dangerous.
When asked about allegations of a weapon, the brothers indicated that they were holding up a cell phone and that could've been mistaken for a gun.
Baker was only issued a citation because the other driver, who claimed the brothers had a gun, did not file a police report.
Baker declined to comment when reached by phone by News 2.
