A Murfreesboro man has died after contracting West Nile virus.
According to the Daily News Journal, Marion Rogers, 82, died at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital on Sunday
He was diagnosed with the virus September 19.
Last week, Rogers' son, Guy, told the paper his father was bedridden, unable to speak and occasionally unable to breathe without a ventilator.
Rogers' visitation will be Tuesday from Noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Transmitted to humans by mosquitoes, West Nile virus can cause inflammation of the brain.
