A Nashville resident was displaced after a fire broke out late Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported at a home in the 700 block of 28th Avenue North around 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters were able to put out the heavy flames in a matter of minutes.

Fire officials on the scene said they believe the fire started in one of the home's bedrooms. An exact cause was not immediately determined.

The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner, who was not home at the time.

No injuries were reported. A home next door sustained heat damage.

The fire remains under investigation.
