Authorities said no arrests were made as officers spent time on Wednesday afternoon checking in on more than 140 registered sex offenders who live or work in Williamson County.

During the unannounced operation, officers spent time going door to door in an effort to make sure the registered offenders are in compliance with the law.

“We need to know where they are residing.  We need to know where their working and it's important they keep those records current,” explained Police Chief David Rahinsky, adding, “Violation to comply with the sex offender registry will violate their probation and in most cases will result in arrest.”

News 2, who was with police as they knocked on many of the sex offender's doors, did not witness any arrests being made for violations.

Authorities said Thursday, one day after the operation, 97 of the registered sex offenders were verified as being in compliance with state laws.

Officials said they are working to verify compliance by 29 other offenders and have identified 19 “possible violations.”

According to authorities of the 19 possible violations, two occurred in Franklin and were issued because a change in residency or employment was not reported by offenders.

The remaining 17 possible violations are being further investigated.

Franklin police spearheaded the roundup dubbed “Operation Raven,” which included seven state and federal law enforcement agencies including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Marshals.
