An accused east Nashville arsonist and murderer was taken into police custody Sunday night in Ohio without incident.
Cecil Whited was wanted by authorities for intentionally setting a house fire on August 5 that claimed the life of his 52-year-old stepfather, Alexander Ray.
Ray was asleep in a downstairs bedroom when the fire broke out at his home located in the 1300 block of McGavock Pike. Four other people inside the home at the time escaped uninjured.
Whited is expected to be returned to Nashville in the near future.
