A Murfreesboro police officer who was arrested with his wife on drug charges in July will not be fighting his termination.
Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested Andrew Messick, 43, and Crystal Messick, 44, in the parking lot of a Murfreesboro Walgreens pharmacy after they exchanged their television for hydrocodone pills.
According to the Daily News Journal, Messick requested a due process hearing on September 10 to object his termination, but Messick has since withdrawn the request and resigned from the force earlier this week.
Police investigated the incident and discovered that Messick knowingly exchanged the television for drugs that he did not have a prescription for.
