Murfreesboro police and agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation executed search warrants and made several arrests at two area massage parlors on Friday.
Investigators began looking into the businesses after complaints were made of illegal sexual activity and impersonation of licensed professionals at the two businesses, according to a statement by Murfreesboro police.
Authorities served search warrants at Health Massage, located at 925 South Church Street, and Chinese Therapeutic Massage, located at 1520 Memorial Boulevard on Friday evening.
The searches resulted in the seizure of evidence and multiple arrests at each location.
One person was arrested on four counts of promoting prostitution and two people were charged with impersonating a licensed professional at Health Massage.
Additionally, a Rutherford County court ordered Health Massage to close. The operators are restrained from accessing the property under the public nuisance law.
At Chinese Therapeutic Massage, two people were charged with impersonating a licensed professional.
Police have not released the names of those arrested.
The investigation is ongoing and police said additional criminal charges are possible.
