A former Ft. Campbell soldier convicted of taking part in execution-style shootings at a Clarksville restaurant will get a new trial.
David Housler and Courtney Matthews, also a former soldier, were convicted of first degree murder for killing four Taco Bell employees in 1994.
Authorities previously said Housler wasn't the gunman in the murders.
A Tennessee appeals court recently ruled that Housler had shoddy legal representation and ordered the case be sent back to the Montgomery County Circuit Court.
According to the judge, Housler's attorneys failed to challenge several aspects of a plea agreement that collapsed and testimony against him.
