A Greenbrier's expired tags on his Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck landed him behind bars on drug charges after police initiated a traffic stop.
Joseph Griffin was traveling on Myatt Drive Thursday around 9 p.m. when an officer noticed he was driving with expired tags.
Upon approaching the 36-year-old man, officers reported a strong smell of marijuana.
Police located a hooded sweatshirt under Griffin's seat that was covering a six pound marijuana brick.
The illegal drug is estimated to be valued at $27,000.
Griffin refused to answer any questions regarding the marijuana.
He has since been released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
