Jamba Juice is soon coming to the Vanderbilt area.
The new location is currently under construction on Elliston Place off West End Avenue.
The Jamba Juice franchise was started in California in the 1990s and has been featured on the Food Network.
Nashville franchise owner Sam Whittier and his six siblings worked for the company in high school.
According to Whittier, Jamba Juice smoothies aren't your average smoothie.
“Jamba Juice offers a line of some of the best-tasting smoothies you'll probably ever taste,” he explained. “We also have fresh juices and they're also expanding their juice menu right now so we hope to have that probably next year, with more of your apple and kale and more of the juice options too.”
Whittier told News 2 near the hospitals and Vanderbilt University just seemed to be the right location.
“They're excited, they're young, they're active,” he said, adding, “And we get the people at the health center that are dealing with health issues everyday and so they want to do what's best for them, too.”
The smoothie bar is slated to open in December.
Whittier's goal is to open a second Middle Tennessee location in Cool Springs by next spring.
