The Metro Council approved incentives to keep ABC's hit-television show “Nashville” to keep shooting locally.

The $500,000 incentive grant is the city's contribution to a $13 million incentive package for the show.

Metro refers to the incentive grant as an investment, adding the show is expected to generate more than $40 million in spending in the city.

“Nashville” returns to ABC September 25.
