Metro police arrested two serial shoplifters after officers witnessed the pair stealing from a retailer at the Mall at Green Hills Saturday night.
Twenty-year-old Dominique Stone and Lamontiesha Johnson, 19, were observed by undercover officers putting merchandise inside their purses at Gymboree.
Officers attempted to stop the pair as they fled the store.
Stone was arrested after authorities approached her vehicle in the parking lot. Police recovered more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from her vehicle.
According to police, Stone had previously been banned from the Mall at Green Hills for shoplifting.
Johnson, who had her young child with her at the time, was also taken into police custody in the parking lot.
Both women are charged with felony theft and evading police. Stone faces additional charges which include criminal trespassing and driving on a revoked license.
She is being held in lieu of a $45,000 bond.
Johnson has since been released on a $20,000 bond. Both women have previous theft convictions.
