CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Tennessee woman is suing the U.S. Army for $30 million, saying military authorities did not alert her to an investigation into allegations that a Fort Campbell soldier raped her daughter and videotaped the act.

The soldier, Joshua Cline, has been convicted on state rape charges and federal child pornography charges involving the girl, who was 6 when the abuse was discovered in 2008.

The woman told The Tennessean the incident and its aftermath has been devastating.

The Army has declined to comment on the lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in Nashville earlier this month.

The lawsuit says Army officials were investigating Cline, but didn’t notify the mother of the potential danger, and that the girl was then abused by Cline a second time.
