Giles County man dies in single-vehicle crash

One man was injured and another killed after a single-vehicle accident in Giles County Thursday morning.

The crash was reported at 10:15 a.m. on Kerr Hill Road in Lynnville.

According to authorities, Justin Pigg, 26, of Lexington, Tennessee was travelling east Kerr Hill Road when he lost control of the car.

The car went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and slammed into a tree.

Pigg suffered injuries in the accident, however, his condition is unknown at this time.

His passenger, 38-year-old John Spall II of Rogersville, Alabama was killed in the crash.

After the wreck, Pigg reportedly told police that he looked down and was trying to swat a bee for one second before the accident occurred.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said speed could have been factor.

No charges have been filed at this time.
