Conservative groups are spanning the country in an effort to defund President Obama's Health Care Law.
Thursday night, Heritage Action for America held a town hall event at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin at 6 p.m.
Heritage Action for America, the sister-organization of the conservative public policy organization, The Heritage Foundation, held the event to speak out against the Affordable Health Care Act that goes into effect January 1 when all individuals will be required to have health insurance.
The goal of the group, lead by its president and former South Carolina Senator, Jim DeMint, is to urge Americans to make noise about the President's health care law during the August Congressional recess.
The group exclaimed “with less than two months before many people experience firsthand the government takeover of America's health-care system, the clock is ticking to stop Obamacare.”
Hundreds are expected to attend this event which is part of a nine-city Defund Obamacare national tour. Nashville is Heritage's fourth stop.
Pro-Obamacare events are also being organized at every stop, including here in Nashville.
Tennessee Citizen Action, A state-wide consumer rights organization hosted their Pro-Obama town hall event, Tennessee for All”, at the UAW Local 737 in Nashville Thursday at 6 p.m., the same time as Heritage's event.
Both town hall events were expected to generate large crowds who are both in favor or oppose the highly contested health care law.
