The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged the former Warren County airport director after thousands of dollars was discovered missing during a recent audit.

John Patterson was indicted last week on one count of theft over $10,000 and 18 counts of forgery.

Authorities reported while working at as the airport director between 2007 and 2011, Patterson, 42, forged daily logs which kept a running total of cash and credit coming into the facility.

On several occasions, Patterson is said to have changed the amount of cash taken in and pocketed the money.

An audit revealed more than $17,000 in missing funds.  

Patterson was booked into the Warren County jail on Monday and has since been released on a $20,000 bond.
