The first day of school created quite a buzz at one Rutherford County high school.
“It's the first day of school, ever,” said Stewarts Creek High School Principal Clark Harrell.
Stewarts Creek is the newest school in the district. Faculty and staff greeted nearly 1,500 students Monday morning.
The high school completes the campus that also houses Stewarts Creek Elementary and Middle Schools.
The student body is made up of those previously zoned for La Vergne, Smyrna, Riverdale, and Blackman high schools.
The multi-city pool prompted school leaders to develop a motto of “One Team” to encourage students to take pride in their own school.
Stewarts Creek High School is home of the Red Hawks.
