Authorities in Robertson County arrested Joshua Pentecost, 24, Friday afternoon just before 5:00 p.m. after he fired shots at Springfield Police on Thursday evening. 

On Thursday around 10:40 p.m., Springfield police heard shots fired near another incident.

After arriving to the area, one officer attempted to stop a vehicle coming from that direction, but the driver fled and attempted to elude him.

Pentecost then drove down Park Drive, exited the vehicle, and fired four shots at police.

He then fled on foot and fired more shots nearby.

Before this incident, there were three active warrants for his arrest, including escape.

Pentecost now has four more warrants against him on charges of attempted first degree murder, reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detailed charges are pending but will now include attempted 1st degree murder of a law enforcement officer.

Pentecost was located in an apartment on Sky View Terrace located in Springfield.
