A 25-year-old Giles County man has been charged with TennCare fraud for the second time this year.
Joseph Bowen was arrested after he fraudulently obtained the painkiller Hydrocodone by doctor shopping. He used the state's benefits to pay for the clinical visits or prescriptions.
Authorities said Bowen was also arrested in mid-April for TennCare fraud in an effort to allegedly obtain a controlled substance.
TennCare fraud is a Class E felony that carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.
Anyone who suspects TennCare fraud can report it by calling 1-800-433-3982.
