18-year-old killed in wreck while fleeing deputy

An 18-year-old Erin man is dead after crashing his car while fleeing a sheriff's deputy in Houston County.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Sunday on County Highway 1781 in Tennessee Ridge, about 80 miles northwest of Nashville.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Brian Grimm's car went off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned down an embankment.

Grimm was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Officers suspect alcohol was involved, according to the THP report.
