A former Springfield police officer was taken into custody by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Monday for domestic assault.
Thirty-one-year old David Hyde was indicted on one count of domestic assault for an alleged incident involving his ex-wife on June 16.
According to authorities, Hyde reportedly attacked his former wife in front of their child after an argument occurred.
During the confrontation, Hyde is said to have forcefully and intentionally knocked the victim down causing her to suffer injuries to the back of her head.
He has since been booked into the Robertson County jail on a $2,500 bond.
Hyde has since been terminated from his position at the Springfield Police Department.
