A 24-year-old man faces multiple charges after he reportedly crashed his vehicle into another motorist early Saturday morning before chasing the victim with a hammer.
Upon their arrival, police located Ben Menefee, who was still armed with a hammer, at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Reliance Drive around 3 a.m.
During their investigation, police determined Menefee purposely struck the other car with his vehicle before taking a hammer from his apartment and returning to the scene where he allegedly smashed out the victim's windows before chasing him through the parking lot.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
Menefee is free on a $21,500 bond. He is charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, aggravated assault and felony vandalism.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 15.
