The 35th annual Music City Triathlon will be held in downtown Nashville this weekend.
The two-day event is staged on the east side of the Cumberland River in the area around LP Field.
On Sunday, those competing in the triathlon will swim in the Cumberland River, bike on Ellington Parkway and run through the heart of downtown Nashville.
The Music City Triathlon has been managed by Team Magic since 2006.
Co-owner Faye Yates said, “Any race is unique because you get to run through the downtown business district and entertainment district and that's a lot of fun for the racers.”
About 11-hundred runners are set to take part in the triathlon tomorrow.
Ellington Parkway will be closed Sunday morning for the event from 7 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The Music City Kids Duathlon took place Saturday for the third year in a row with a course designed just for children.
