Husband will face separate trials for child abuse, murder charges

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Rutherford County man accused of killing his wife will face separate trials for charges of child abuse and murder.

Jacob Pearman reportedly confessed to killing his wife Carla after an argument about his pending child abuse charge involving her seven-year-old son on Valentine’s Day at their Murfreesboro home.

Prosecutors will try the child abuse case beginning January 27, 2014.

Pearman’s murder trial is scheduled to begin March 24, 2014.

He remains jailed in Rutherford County.
