Crossville nursing home fire injures 2 firefighters

CROSSVILLE (WATE) – Two firefighters and multiple patients were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at a Cumberland County nursing home.

The incident happened at the WyndRidge Health and Rehab Center on Wayne Avenue around 5 p.m.

A worker at the nursing home said all patients on ventilators were being taken to Cumberland Regional Medical Center.

No one was hurt and the fire has been put out.

Crossville Fire Department Chief Mike Turner said two firefighters were also taken to the hospital.

It's unclear what type of injuries they sustained.

The remaining patients were heading back to the rooms after crews cleaned out the area.
